Eastland, Open for Business!

The amazing new Eastland is now open for business! Stage one of the development, including the Town Square and REALM is sensational! On opening day, Eastland was overflowing with excited visitors.

I was delighted to attend the official opening, and tour with the Hon. Julie Bishop, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Michael Sukkar, Federal Member for Deakin, and Cr Tony Dibb, Mayor of Maroondah.

It is indeed an exciting time for Ringwood. The new Eastland is certainly a feast for all senses, offering fabulous culinary food, an enormous alfresco dining area, internationally renowned fashions, a new Town Square, and an exceptional REALM, enhancing local innovation, culture and providing local library services.

The former Coalition Government worked closely with QIC and Maroondah City Council to bring this fantastic project to fruition. Indeed, former Premier, the Hon. Denis Napthine, turned the first sod. Since then, the works have been non-stop, with stage two scheduled to be completed early next year.

Eastland is certainly becoming a destination in Melbourne’s East. The former Coalition Government's priority of funding and redeveloping the $66 million RINGWOOD Station and bus interchange provides fabulous access for visitors across Melbourne.

I am so pleased with the achievements of our former Government; it was amazing to see all of the planning and infrastructure come to fruition.

I look forward to seeing you down at our fabulous local Eastland shopping centre.
